Marking a significant moment for RJ Marine Associates LTD, we announce the addition of another LCM8, M/V Palm Grove, to our fleet. She is RJ Marine’s 5th commercial vessel. Palm Grove, an ex-navy vessel built in 1987 with a twin pair of Detroit 12V-71 engines, was acquired in 2020. The renovations undertaken to Palm Grove are the culmination of years of meticulous planning, engineering expertise, and unwavering dedication from our entire team. From the initial double decker wheelhouse concept designed by Captain DeWitt Withington to the final weld by our skilled craftsmen Jared Wagoner, Ryan Johnson and Jr Rusho, we are extremely proud of our crew. The two-story wheelhouse features a Captains desk, galley, seating booth, heating and cooling systems, and state of the art navigation systems. The barge industry has long been known for its traditional, utilitarian approach. Captain Withington's innovative design injects a dose of creativity, demonstrating that even the most basic industrial elements have the potential for exciting transformation. The addition of Palm Grove to our fleet significantly expands our cargo handling capabilities, allowing us to better serve our clients with a wider range of transportation options and tackle even the most complex logistical challenges. Her cargo hold is 14 ft by 40 ft, capable of handling the same cargo as Maple Grove. Through the hard work of our team, Palm Groves ramp has been modified to accommodate a wider range of vehicles. This vessel represents a major milestone in RJ Marine Associates LTDs ongoing commitment to providing safe, efficient, reliable cargo solutions and symbolizes our unwavering commitment to providing local, year-round marine support for our community.
